"What's in Me for Rotary?"
As we enter into the 2018 year, we all need to ask ourselves, "what's in me for Rotary?" I am sure there is a talent each one of us possess that will not only enhance our club but also the Marshall Interact Club and the Wiley Rotaract Club.
We should not be selfish with our talents. An unknown author wrote, "when you exercise your talents they will multiply." This statement is very true. When I was the Diploma Plus chair, I would meet with our Diploma Plus Students and encourage them to graduate from high school. I also shared nutrition, financial management, scholarship and job interview tips. Over 20 students successfully completed the Diploma Plus program. From time to time I see the program graduates working a full-time job or pursing a college degree. I really don't know what I have said or done to encourage the Diploma Plus Students, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to have shared words of encouragement.
If you are interested in sharing your talent with our Diploma Plus Students contact April Spears at aspears@elteccorp.com or with Interact members contact Stacy Adams at interclubmarshalltx5830@gmail.com or with Rotatact members contact David "Fitz" Fitzgerald at dfitzgerald@pcgus.com.

POLIO ERADICATION
"The Last Drop" Is the chant we will be hearing around the world this year, as the fight against Polio draws agonizingly close to the final drop that will mark the complete and utter eradication of this dreaded disease.
The Interact Club of Marshall had its first meeting November 13, 2017. Since then the Club has strived to adhere to our motto of “Service above Self”. We met with the Humane Society and began to volunteer at the organization, donated 84 pounds of food to Mission Marshall for World Interact Week. Also on Saturday, December 16th we went out to Heritage House and decorated the doors of the residents for Christmas. Six students, Ilse Torres, Bianca Hernandez, Samantha Reeves, Learondra Reese, Dante Enrriquez, and Dakota Epps, along with the Rotary president, Louraiseal McDonald, and Marshall High School sponsor, Marilyn Anderson went hall to hall greeting residents with gifts bags, and decorated their doors with small ornaments, bows, and wrapping paper.
The Club wants to give a special thanks to Pet Place for allowing us the opportunity to volunteer at the facility, and to help animals in need, something the Club is passionate about. We would also like to thank the Rotary Club District 5830, La Quinta Inn, Hampton Inn, and Comfort Suites for donating supplies to the club for our Heritage House service project. Lastly, we would like to thank our sponsors, Marilyn Anderson and Stacy Adams, for mentoring the club and giving the students a chance to create something that can allow us to give back to our community.
