“We Made A Difference”

As we close out this 2017-2018 Rotary year, I thought we should reflect upon our accomplishments:

Established the Marshall High School Interact Club
Established the Wiley College Rotaract Club
Networked with other organizations to promote unity in the community
Informed the public about Polio
Collected and donated over 25 units of blood to the local blood bank
Donated over 400 dictionaries to our local schools
Planted over 50 trees on the new school campuses
Celebrated the 30^th Anniversary of Women Membership in Rotary International
Donated over $500 toiletry items to the local Battered Women’s Shelter
Donated $4,000 as well as assisted with distributing food items at Mission Marshall
Provided warm meals for the Hearts for the Hungry events
Displayed patriotic flags across the City of Marshall
Encouraged four at-risk high school students to graduate with a high school diploma through our Diploma Plus Program
Participated in the Annual Literacy Council Spelling Bee
Provided physical labor as well as gave a financial donation to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts
Raised over $8000 for the Marshall Animal Shelter with our Annual Faux Paws event
Assisted with Santa’s Workshop during Wonderland of Lights

Don’t forget we are still competing in the District 5830 Membership Drive. Be sure to ask a family member, friend or a colleague, “Are you interested in Food, Fun and Fellowship?” If the answer is yes, then that person might be a ROTARIAN.

Thank you all for the opportunity to serve as our club president. I truly appreciate everyone’s dedication, enthusiasm and commitment as we obtained our goals. I am encouraging everyone to continue to Be the Inspiration during Jay Webb’s, President Elect, tenure.

POLIO ERADICATION

"The Last Drop" Is the chant we will be hearing around the world this year, as the fight against Polio draws agonizingly close to the final drop that will mark the complete and utter eradication of this dreaded disease.
